Why NuSynth

Five principles behind breakthrough chemistry

We re-examine chemistry from first principles and engineer every process for commercial scale from day one. Hover over or tap a principle to see it in practice.

We question established routes rather than simply optimising them, re-examining starting materials, routes and process economics.

Proof point · In our intermediate case study, an 11-step route became 4–5 steps, at ~120°C instead of 230–250°C.

We design for the plant from the first experiment, so what works in the lab keeps working at scale.

Failed experiments are data too. Every result is kept and structured, so each new experiment starts from everything we have already learned.

How we measure innovation

Seven outcomes, defined before we start.

Hover over or tap an outcome to see what it means.

Raw-material, energy and processing cost per kilogram of product.

How much of what goes into the reactor comes out as saleable product.

Fewer steps, shorter cycle times and more output per reactor volume.

Chemistry that behaves the same in the lab, the pilot plant and the plant.

Hazardous reagents, high pressures and temperature extremes designed out.

Cleaner reagents and solvents, less energy and fewer impurities.

Locally available raw materials and less dependence on single-source imports.

Defined upfront

Every R&D programme is benchmarked against a technical and commercial target on each outcome.

FAQ

Questions we often hear

What does NuSynth Technologies do?

NuSynth Technologies is an R&D-led process innovation collaborative platform for complex chemistry. It redesigns chemical processes from first principles rather than through incremental tweaks, and uses an AI-enabled engine that learns from every R&D cycle to accelerate future development. Beginning with high-value sectors like pharmaceuticals and electronic chemicals, NuSynth is building differentiated process IP from India for global markets.

Which industries does NuSynth serve?

NuSynth focuses on high-value sectors like pharmaceuticals and electronic chemicals, worldwide. Because the underlying chemistry is shared across sectors, its processes can be applied elsewhere too. For example, catalytic trans-esterification innovation can be applied across the pharmaceutical and energy sectors.

Where are NuSynth’s facilities?

NuSynth has two R&D locations: Mysuru (operational) and Bengaluru (under development). It also runs a pilot plant in Mysuru, Karnataka, India, and works with more than 20 verified manufacturing partners across India.

How does NuSynth approach sustainability?

Through greener chemistry: fewer process steps, lower temperatures, phosgene- and bromine-free pathways, oxidation with air, reactions in water and locally available raw materials. Every programme is benchmarked on cost, yield, efficiency, scalability, safety, sustainability and supply resilience.

How does NuSynth use AI?

Each R&D cycle combines first-principles process redesign with predictive synthesis models and incorporates manufacturability, raw-material economics, safety and quality from day one. Every cycle also feeds NuSynth’s AI engine, which converts experimental data into a proprietary knowledge base. This compounding intelligence accelerates future molecule selection, experimentation and commercial scale-up with each programme. Over time, this allows NuSynth to significantly shorten traditional R&D gestation cycles.

Who has invested in NuSynth?

NuSynth raised US$4 million in Seed funding in 2026, co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC.
